Smokey Greens + Cranberry Lips

Jewel Toned Pink and Purple MakeUp Look 2

I'm officially back! I've been MIA but I promise you I'm back for good and here to stay. So I decided to "rebrand" the blog and the reason why is simple because as much as I loved my old blogs I felt restricted by title on what kind of topics I could post on. Although I love the The MakeUp Kit and My Kink and Curls - I feel like it time to have an online space where I could totally be myself instead of one dimensional beauty guru. So I welcome you too my upgraded and evolved blog Nia Etc, home of beauty product junkie, amateur photographer/videographer and serial blogger Nia.

Anyway on to my latest look which is a combination of a very green smokey eye and deep red cranberry lip. I had not intended to look to be so bold on the eyes and lips however I think they  work really well together. Of course this look would just as nice with a nude lip which is usually my go-to, however my friends voted the red as better on this occasion.

I must admit Autumn is my season even though I am summerbaby - I always feel more inspired to create make looks in the Autumn/Winter season. If you follow me on Instagram you will be quite familiar with selfies hashtag-ed #VampyLips. Well enough on my rambling, I hope you like this look and let me know - what's your favourite season?

Begin with skintone transition colour above the crease to enable easy blending-  I used Coastal Scent Hot Pot in Oatmeal Tan with a fluffy blending brush. Layer a mossy green eyeshadow in the crease just below the transition colour - for this I used Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Hoppin Jalapeno. To add depth to the look add a deep olive to the inner and outer corners of the mobile lid with a small blending brush (Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Olivewood). Add dimension to the look by applying a medium shimmery green to the center of the lid like Urban Decay's Damage Eyeshadow from the Vice 2 palette. Use your favourite gel to create a cat eyed liner effect (Maybelline Gel Liner in Intense Black) then add more depth by apply a dark black brown in the outer corner of the eyes (Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Burnished Brunette) with a small blending brush. Highlight the inner corner of the eyes with a light shimmer green like Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Sage Sensation. Smoke out the bottom lashline with black kohl liner and more of Urban Decays Damage Eyeshadow on a pencil brush. Finish the eyes by adding mascara and/or lashes - I used EyLure No.141 Falsies.

For my base I used my favourite concealer which is NARS Radiant Creamy in Med/Dark 2 around my eyes, lips and on blemishes and blended with a buffing brush. I set the concealer using a tapered powder brush with Sleek Luminous Pressed Powder in 02 then applied Revlon Nearly Naked in Deep around the perimeter of my face for a very natural contour effect. I added a little bronzer around my temples and cheekbones using the darkest colour from the Sleek Bronze Block in Dark a contour brush.

With such bold eyes and lip keep the cheeks simple with a natural blush; I used Sleek Blush in Sahara as it is a subtle orange which looks good on darker skintones.

To achieve these deep red lips I lined them with MUA Brooding Plum Liner then applied Sleek Cranberry Lipstick which is limited edition however Vamp Lipstick also from Sleek is very similar.
